State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) in cooperation with the Institute of Cultural Heritage (IKTK) as the public authority responsible for the theme “Protected Areas”, has published on the National Geoportal the geospatial information for the layer “Protected sites of Cultural Heritage (Polygon)”.

Protected areas of cultural heritage include historical centers and their protected areas and archaeological areas divided into categories "A" and "B", based on the intensity of the presence of archaeological traces and protected areas of special monuments.

The published data are in accordance with the state standard for technical specifications of geospatial information in Albania - Theme: “Protected sites”, approved by the Council of Ministers - no. 891, dated 18.11.2020.
