State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) in cooperation with the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (IKTK) as the public authority responsible for the topic of Protected Sites of Cultural Heritage, has published on the National Geoportal the geospatial information for the layers:

• Protected Areas of Cultural Heritage (Point);

• Protected Areas of Cultural Heritage (Polygon).

Protected sites of cultural heritage include historical centers and their protected areas as well as archaeological areas divided into categories "A" and "B", based on the intensity of the presence of archaeological traces and protected areas of specific monuments.

The data are in accordance with the state standard for the approval of the document "Technical Specifications of Geospatial Information in Albania - Topic: Protected Sites" approved by Council of Ministers - No. 891, dated 18.11.2020
