State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) in cooperation with the National Agency of Protected Areas (NAPA) has published in the National Geoportal the geospatial information on the topic "Bio-geographical Regions".

The Digital Map of European Ecological Regions (DMEER) defines and describes specific ecological areas in Europe, based on European climatic, topographical and geobotanical data, together with the contribution of a large team of experts from several European institutions related to nature and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

The objective of the map of ecological regions in Europe is to show the extent of areas with relatively homogeneous ecological conditions, within which, comparisons and assessments of different expressions of biodiversity are significant.
