State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) in cooperation with the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (IKTK), as the public authority responsible for the theme "Protected Sites", has updated the geospatial information on the National Geoportal for the layers;

• "Protected Areas of Cultural Heritage (Point)",
• "Protected Areas of Cultural Heritage (Polygon)".

Protected areas of cultural heritage include historical centers, their protected areas and archaeological areas divided into categories "A" and "B". The published information is based on the intensity of the presence of archaeological traces and protected areas of specific monuments.

The data are in accordance with the state standard for technical specifications of geospatial information in Albania, approved by the Council of Ministers no. 891, dated 18.11.2020, on the theme, "Protected Sites".
