State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG), in its role as the public authority responsible for the topic “Orthoimaging”, has published the layer, “Orthophoto 1976-1986 (1:25 000)” on the National Geoportal.

The realization of this orthophoto was obtained from analog, historical aerial photographs taken during the period 1976–1986 by the Army Topographic Institute (ITU). These aerial photographs were used to produce topographic maps at a scale of 1:25 000.

This information can be used for geospatial analysis of land use, urban development, infrastructure, environmental changes and processes related to property and planning.

The data are in accordance with the standard with the Council of Ministers no. 397, dated 19.06.2019, on the approval of the document "State Standards for Technical Specifications of Geospatial Information in Albania - Theme: Orthoimagery".
